General Eligibility Description

The KMHS Access Center, 360-405-4010, can quickly and easily help you with information regarding KMHS services and walk-in first appointments, answer inquiries about eligibility for services, provide referrals to community resources, and respond to a referral for KMHS services.

Children & families, adults, and older adults are able to obtain an initial (intake) appointment by walking in to the main KMHS campus front lobby entrance, located at 5455 Almira Drive Northeast in Bremerton on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 am 4:00 pm, and Thursdays from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm, except holidays.

You can easily learn about your eligibility to receive services by either:

1) Calling our Access Center at (360) 405-4010 to determine initial eligibility first over the phone OR by

2) Coming into the main KMHS campus in East Bremerton (address noted above), and one of our screeners will help determine your eligibility in person.

To help us determine your eligibility, you will be asked questions such as:

What is the nature of your mental health concern?

What kind of services are you seeking?

Did anyone refer you to our services?

Do you have Medicaid/Apple Health?

If you do not have Medicaid/Apple Health, would you like us to help you with eligibility and/or enrollment?

Do you have other insurance?

Are you feeling suicidal?

Have you been violent towards anyone?

After meeting initial eligibility, a KMHS Clinician will determine if you meet Washington’s Access to Care Criteria for services provided at a community mental health center.   If you do not meet criteria for services, our staff will graciously give you information and referrals for someone who may be able to be of further assistance.
