If you have Washington Apple Health Insurance and want to enroll in our services, you can walk into our Bremerton office at 5455 Almira Drive NE from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. First visits may take up to two hours.

If you wish to receive services at our South Kitsap office, please talk to the Access Department about your options.

The behavioral healthcare industry, including KMHS, is experiencing staffing shortages. Intakes performed on a walk-in basis are done based on staff availability. While we do our best to perform intakes the day clients walk in, that is not always possible, and there may be wait times.

If you need to be seen outside of regular office hours, please inquire at intake or ask our Call Center what other options are available.

Your first visit may take up to two hours. During this time you will:

• Meet with a staff member who will gather basic information and work with you to complete necessary paperwork
• Meet with a Mental Health Professional who will discuss your concerns and determine if you meet requirements for our level of care

We may also recommend additional assessments for substance use treatment and psychiatric services.

If your visit is for a child, and you are a parent seeking to enroll them in services, your child must be present during the visit.

If you are not eligible for our services, our staff may provide you with other local and/or regional referrals and/or information.

Scheduling a next appointment

If you meet medical and financial eligibility for our services, a date and time for your first appointment will be provided. This appointment will be within 14 days of your first visit with us.

What to bring to appointments:

• A copy of your insurance/Medicaid card
• A photo ID
• Any pertinent mental health, substance abuse records or information regarding previous outpatient or inpatient care.
• A copy of any:

  • parenting agreement
  • IEP
  • legal guardianship
  • durable power of attorney

KMHS is an approved provider for Medicaid/Apple Health. Currently KMHS contracts with the following Medicaid Managed Care Organizations:

  • Molina
  • Optum/United Healthcare
  • Amerigroup
  • Coordinated Care (Foster Care)
  • Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW)

If you do not have insurance, our navigators can assist you with determining if you are eligible for Medicaid Managed Care and support you in making an application. You may also apply for coverage through Washington Healthplanfinder.

If you wish to obtain copies of medical records, please call or fax your request to our Clinical Records department. Requests may take up to 14 calendar days to process.

Please note that except for requests by a client for their own records, in order for KMHS to release records to any party, including medical providers, we must have a KMHS Authorization to Release-Obtain Information Form signed and on file.  Links to these forms can be found in English here, en Español aqui.

If you are a provider or other party sending medical records or client information to KMHS, please fax documents to the Clinical Records department at 360-373-0917.
